Jacob Alexander began learning guitar at the age of 9, his instructor was the late Arnie Davis. At the age of 14 Jacob was told he was no longer in need of an instructor although he remained friends with Davis for many years.

Alexander joined many bands throughout high school and learned to play with a group, setting up shows and learning the music landscape. Alexander played most with the band called "The Witness" mostly playing at dive bars while underage
"We won a lot of beer tickets but kept them as mementos, oh and once we won a Christmas ham!"

Alexander later created a band called Bambooe where he learned to hone his skills as a songwriter and began to learn about music engineering and production. Bambooe played many shows but eventually disbanded when the rock and roll lifestyle became more important than the music.
"I thought I was hallucinating that fancy ghost in the photo, but I suppose the camera wasn't high so he must be real"

Jacob Alexander then began a new band called Below the Tempest which led him to meeting S.L.J.This was a music first type of group that began playing shows and recording very quickly

The band went through personnel changes every few months and never really had a chance to establish roots
"It's too bad, any iteration of BTT had a good chance of making something of ourselves"

"Everybody involved had a lot of talent and each version of the band had its own x factor"

After the final version of BTT disbanded Jacob Alexander gave up on the group dynamic and began a serious effort to get better at recording, engineering and mastering music on his own.
"It was a low point but at the same time I did get significantly better at raising the bar of production quality. I love my old bands but there is no denying our old recordings were of awful quality"

After enough time passed Alexander decided he would make another true effort in music. He then contacted one person and one person only, S.L.J.
"I knew there was only one person I could trust to bring his A game every time and not disappear. It was a no-brainer and obvious choice to get in contact with S.L.J."

Jacob Alexander and S.L.J. began the project titled "The Hungry Pyknic" in 2023 and have already released an album with more to come.
"Creation in a bubble is stifling, so its very nice to have someone who can check me on my bad ideas. This is also the longest I have been in a single group and it feels good to know tomorrow it will still be here"
